Heritage

The faculty was established on June 24th 2019 by virtue of Rector’s ordinance no. 80/2019. The faculty constitutes a basic organizational entity whose purpose is to organize, conduct and coordinate the educational process of study programs attributed to disciplines: education, political science and public administration, psychology and sociology.

The Faculty of Social Sciences collaborates with four research institutes, i.e.: Institute of Political Science and Security Studies; Institute of Pedagogy; Institute of Psychology and the Institute of Sociology.

Until October 1st 2019, the aforementioned institutes, together with the Institute of History and International Relations and Institute of Philosophy, formed the Faculty of Humanities. This unit’s research and didactic activity had for years concentrated on the development of social sciences and the humanities which led it to become a distinguishable institution both inside and beyond the academic community.
